Young boys and staff playing hockey

Our dynamic, engaged sports staff is led by phys ed and other teachers who know how to enthuse and excite all of our campers, no matter what their athletic ability or interest. Whether our sports staff is leading traditional sports like basketball, softball, soccer, wiffleball or hockey – or whether they’re teaching “alternative” games like two-hand touch rugby, Alaskan Kickball, Dragon Dodgeball or tchoukball – our kids learn skills while enjoying themselves and gaining confidence. As our staff likes to say, “If you had fun, you won.” And we have a lot of fun at Briarwood Day Camp.

Briarwood campers also enjoy gymnastics – we tumble, we vault, we balance beam (is that a verb?), we “flip” over the uneven bars. It’s fantastic and a great chance for beginners to learn and for more experienced gymnasts to build their skills.

Lastly, Briarwood campers LOVE gaga and we give our kids lots of opportunities to play (we think they might want to play all day – but there are too many other things to do). What is gaga you ask? It’s kind of like dodgeball below the waist and it is super fun. Did you know that Briarwood holds the Guinness World Record for the largest game of gaga? True story! You can read more about it here!
