Being a camp counselor is probably the most fun job you can possibly have in the summer. If you like being outside, if you like working with kids, if you enjoy being a role model and if you enjoy giving back, working at Briarwood may be for you.
Great camp counselors can come in all shapes and sizes. Some are loud, some are quiet, some are athletic, some are artistic, some are funny, some are musical, some make bracelets for all of their campers and some make up crazy handshakes or nicknames or dances. One thing they all have in common, however, is they all like being around kids. Good energy, a great heart and a desire to do the right thing and help kids grow are the biggest things we look for in our staff.
Briarwood is an eight-week summer camp. Our junior and senior staff positions generally break down into the following three categories.
These are the staff members assigned to the various bunks. The bunk counselor travels with the bunk to the various activities and is also the primary contact with campers’ parents.
These are the staff members who are at various activities. They teach or lead activities such as swimming, art or archery. At the various specialties, the specialists are assisted by bunk counselors.
Floaters aka SUPERS
