Check out our latest Briarwood Bugle!

You can read it below or see it in glorious color and with photos here.

Briarwood Bugle 2021 Week 4

From Mike and Matt Can you believe that camp is half way done? We sure can’t! We had another amazing week—lower and upper camp bunk shows (great dancing and even better smiles), Halloween in July (fantastic costumes!), CIT trip to the beach and movie night and much, much more.
We’ve got more amazingness next week– Super CIT Beach trip, bunk choice period, Goofy Day and our 1st Annual and Totally Amazing and Fun Briarwood Fishing Derby! And still to come, Busy Bee Show, Carnival, Color War, Mystery Day, the list goes on and on….
Can’t wait!
And on another note, we wanted to say thank you to our camp families and staff. We’ve made it this far thanks to your thoughtfulness, dedication and understanding. We appreciate everything!

The Cheetah Print by Hannah Wind
The cheerful Cheetahs shined their lights this week at our bunk show! They lit up the stage with their smiles and made their presence known! But we had many other adventures this week too… McKenzie and Noura went down the zipline for the first time this summer and Emily made it to the top of the cargo net in 50 seconds! We had some fun breaking Briarwood records when Gabby stood on one foot for 14 minutes in gymnastics! Payge is our bunk’s gaga professional and Hadleigh always flies through the ropes obstacle course. Sophie caught 3 fish at nature in record speed, and the Cheetahs are always racing around. On the jumper, we played sharks and minnows and Lily and Alexa showed off their skills. We also had fun learning new gimp stitches including Maddie teaching us how to do cobra! Our CITs Mia and Kaegan are the absolute best. We love seeing them around camp even when they can’t be with us! Jess and I are having so much fun with the girls and are so proud of what we have done so far. We are so excited for the next 4 weeks!

The Gazelles by Sydney Roberts
Welcome to the Gazelles Bunk! If you are looking for the 6th grade girls they can be found at any bench blasting Taylor Swift and having mini concerts. Not only do we have talented singers but we have talented dancers! The Gazelles did an AMAZING job on stage dancing to Girlfriend! We have been having an awesome summer, especially in the ga-ga pit, on the zoom flume, at nature, and in the pool. Our bunk is a funny group of girls! Reese and Madden love to make up skits and entertain the whole bunk. The Gazelles have many skills that are showcased around camp. Peyton and Taylor have been capturing the Briarwood scenery with their notebook sketches. Avery and Ari can be found together having fun and showing off all of their athletic skills on every field at camp. Shining on stage is where she belongs, Hailey R.’s dance moves impress us all. Wearing her signature Dallas Cowboys hat, Hannah is always the first to participate in any activity with a smile. The Gazelles prance with excitement down the nature hill, where Jordan can be found taking care of the Briarwood bunnies. Zoe brightens our day when she comes bearing gifts for Jenna and me. Haley N. has been working hard mastering her front and back float and during free swim she loves to go down the slide. Julia is super easygoing, especially when she is climbing up the rock wall and flying down the zip line. Jenna and I look forward to coming to camp every morning and making memories with the best bunk! We had a great first four weeks and we are excited to continue having the best summer EVER!

Meet Our Wonderful and Amazing Staff Part IV
We return with more profiles of senior staff members at Briarwood Day Camp

NATE FRANKEL is celebrating his 12th summer at Briarwood Day Camp. This is his first summer as a senior counselor. Nate can be found having so much fun with different bunks at Sports. Nate, a student at West Chester University, loves returning to Briarwood every summer for the awesome friends he has made. If Nate could travel anywhere, he would travel to the west coast to play golf.

NINA ORR makes a splash for her first summer at Briarwood as a lifeguard at the Lower Pool. Nina, Mom to two Briarwood campers, teaches Kindergarten during the off season. If she were an animal she would be a dolphin. People would be surprised to learn that Nina grew up in Margate, New Jersey.

DANIELLE SHARE returns to her summer home at Briarwood for her 3rd summer. This summer Danielle can be found leading the Cottontails as they hop all over camp. Danielle, mom to 3 awesome Briarwood campers, teaches kindergarten and driving lessons during the off season (but not at the same time). People would be surprised to learn that Danielle speaks Italian and she played volleyball in college.
