The Outstanding Otters by Drew Weitzman
The Otters have had an incredible summer at Briarwood! Charlie has had the whole bunk’s attention rehearsing for the big performance of Little Mermaid in Week 8. Benjamin and Bodhi have been crushing it in the pool, showing off some serious swimming skills! Oliver and Grayson are our resident gaga champions, always first in line for a match! When it comes to sports, Remy is out there showing off his skills, especially in dodgeball. Payton has been our unofficial morning warm-up leader reminding us to go to the lineup on time. Eli and Damien never miss a jumping jack and don’t dare them to plank because they can hold it for over 8 minutes! Freddie has racked up a string of hole-in-ones at mini golf with the required impressive celebration dance. Jonathan “JP” has been the first to welcome every new face into the group, true Otter spirit! Also, counselors Gabe (SC) and Tommy (JC) have been amazing all summer, and this bunk wouldn’t be the same without them!

The Lovable Leopards by Maggie Austin
The Leopards are an energetic, kind, and adventurous group of campers who bring enthusiasm to everything they do. They enjoy trying new activities, working together, and making new friends each day at camp. Their positive attitudes and teamwork help make our bunk a fun and welcoming place for everyone. The Leopards love to show how popular they are as Cali, Amelia, Alex, Zara, Charlotte, and Hailey enjoyed flipping in the gymnastics show while Emma will be singing her heart out in the drama show! Grace, Lizzie, and Alina are cooking up some delicious snacks in cooking club as Lilly climbs her way through camp at ropes and Elizabeth glides through the lake while she boats! We are proud of how the Leopards encourage one another and create lasting memories together. We are excited for the next few weeks of camp with the lovable Leopards. -Maggie Austin (SC), Peyton Fox (JC)
SOME FRIENDLY BRIARWOOD REMINDERS:
• If you want to reach your camper’s counselor during the camp day, call the office at 215-598-7143 and we will gladly relay your message. Please do not TEXT or CALL your child’s counselor directly during the camp day. Our counselors are busy watching children and we have asked them not to check their phones during the day.
• Early and Late Care is available from 7:30 am—6:00 pm sharp. Please call the office if you will need this service.
• While it never rains at Briarwood, in the event of a passing shower, please send your camper with the appropriate rain gear should the forecast call for rain.
• Everyone should apply sunscreen daily prior to coming to camp.
• We have a lost and found at camp. It gets pretty full this time of year. Campers’ items should be marked or labeled before they come to camp.
• Did you miss a Bugle? You can find all of this summer’s Bugles in the news section of our website.
• We will be dismissing at 2:30 pm on the last day of camp with no aftercare.
PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD TO CAMP IF HE/SHE IS NOT FEELING WELL
MEET EVEN MORE OF OUR WONDERFULLY SPLENDID BRIARWOOD STAFF!
LIV DRURY is enjoying her first year with us at Briarwood and spending her days in the art room. During the school year, she attends the University of South Florida. Liv’s favorite food is mac & cheese, yum! Her favorite tv show is Full House. If she were an animal, she would be a flamingo and if she could travel any where in the world she would go to Paris, France.
REBECCA LYNN is also a fun, new addition to Briarwood’s art room! During the off season, she is a student at Cairn University and sings in choir and musical theater. Her favorite food is sushi and if she were an animal, she would be a monkey. If Rebecca could go anywhere, she’d travel to Germany. Rebecca’s favorite TV show is Psych! People don’t know that her family has 50+ chickens, 4 ducks, and 2 geese!
BENJAMIN PEARLBERG is excited to be back for his 14th summer at Briarwood. He is a senior counselor for the Cobras bunk. During the offseason, he is a student at the University of Michigan and enjoys playing video games. Benjamin’s favorite thing about Briarwood is the friends he has made along the way. His favorite food is filet mignon and his favorite TV show is How I Met Your Mother. If Benjamin were an animal, he would be a manatee.
